"We must not overlook the potential consequences of aligning with the US, as it may deter China and the BRICS nations from engaging in business with us."
Here is an interesting question to discuss. Why did the United States decide to come to PNG and sign a Defense Cooperation Agreement (DCA) with us?
Let's take a moment to look back at Africa. The US has been investing in Africa for years due to its abundant resources and Africa's significance in the world economy. Naturally, the US needs resources, so they've been providing monetary aid and pushing for social reforms in African countries. However, a few years ago, the Africans started noticing that these social reforms were being tied to LGBTQ rights, under the guise of "human rights".
They were being told that in order to receive financial assistance, they needed to change their laws to support LGBTQ rights. In contrast, China and Russia were focusing on military aid and infrastructure development. The Africans observed this and opted to align themselves with Russia and China, eventually joining BRICS. Seeing this, the US realized they needed to act, hence their surprise move to secure a defense agreement.
The US plans to allocate $12 million towards military infrastructure in PNG, which raises some concerns. How can they afford to give us $12 million when they are trillions of dollars in debt? Recently, there were reports of the US potentially defaulting on one of their loans and hitting the debt ceiling.
The debt ceiling is the maximum amount of money the US can borrow in a year. If they surpass this limit, they default on their loans, indicating that they've spent more than they generated in tax revenue.
Additionally, President Joe Biden is facing investigations for shady business deals with Ukraine, which has led to further allegations of corruption and treason involving his family. Many believe that Biden's administration will be replaced by Trump in the upcoming 2024 elections. In light of these events, the defense agreement appears to serve the US's interests more than ours, as they attempt to gain a foothold in the Pacific.
This move seems like a last-ditch effort by the US, as they witness China, Russia, and the BRICS nations gaining influence. It's essential for our leaders to critically assess their decision-making process and consider their underlying agendas before entering into any agreements.
Trusting the individuals who have worked on the DCA for years may not be enough. We need to be aware of the current political and economic climate, especially when dealing with a nation like the US, which has an unstable economy and a history of invading other countries under false pretenses.
Unlike China and Russia, who have focused on their own economies and building relationships, the US has been involved in military interventions in Iraq and Afghanistan, and more recently, Syria. These actions raise concerns about partnering with the US and tying ourselves to their interests.
We must not overlook the potential consequences of aligning with the US, as it may deter China and the BRICS nations from engaging in business with us. It's time to wake up and reconsider our policies and alliances.
